When I look at my son’s I cannot help but notice glimpses of myself. This can be both, a funny and interesting experience.

Face-It
Face it parents, children will by far be the best piece of art you’ll ever make. Face all that cuteness, messiness, and early life crises, because you know you’ve been there too. You are looking at a beautiful reflection of your life’s history.
Cycle of Life
Newborns represent the frailest stage in human life. They lack linguistic communication skills and proper nervous system functions. They are trying to figure everything out in their new little bodies. As parents raising a new addition to the cycle of life, we re-walk the cycle from the outside. Basically, we are figuring the newborn out too.
Once born, babies go from laying to sitting to crawling and eventually walking. Then Boom! You have a tot! Experiencing overbearing emotions and experiences that start those early life crises. Basically they are figuring out the gravity of reality on this planet. As parents raising this upgraded baby form is making us rethink the gravity of reality on this planet.
Next, you have the grace period of early childhood. A child brought up in a semi-stable environment with good parenting will have a decent routine around life crises. Basically they are developing habits of success. As parents, we are forced to be in a routine to have a chance against life’s crises. Basically we are preparing to handle life crises.
The proud years of teenagehood bring back the overbearing emotions and the gravity of reality starts to affect different places. Basically they are figuring themselves and this world out. As parents, the gravity of reality starts affecting us in different places too. At the same time, as adults, we are figuring out the world.
Early adulthood is a time of exploring professional survival skills. Basically learning potential skills to survive life’s crises, solo. Well, not always solo, young adults still have supporting parents. Parents also often navigate parenthood solo, with a partner, or have grandparent reinforcements.
Faces
Inspired by the funny faces my son used to make. Believe it or not he would mean mug you so you would scowl back, then he would smile.
Parents, the reality is you have to face the challenges of parenthood together. Just you and your kids. Children will shed light on parts of yourself you never knew. Like the determination to save your child from an unexpected fall, or the motivation to step out of your comfort job for better financial opportunities. Parenting is a responsibility like no other, face it.
